Sirenia Malus

This is one of the biggest yet. Definitely something a little aquatic about him – the branch clusters look almost barnacle-like. There’s something of a Dugong or Manatee about him, slightly mournful with bottom-feeder features. I just sold him this weekend so, not available anymore. However, I think he will definitely be the subject of future sketches and artworks.


The natural ripple of wood gives it a very muscular appearance as if it is powering its way through the water. This wood is older and so has developed the characteristic darker streaks to the wood.

Here are the barnacles on the reverse side, each nodule would have become a small sprouting branch.
